Meet the Staff

 

Rabbi Ariel Wilchfort - Director/Principal 

Rabbi Wilchfort made Aliya from Englewood New Jersey at the age of seven. After serving in the I.D.F., Rabbi Wilchfort worked as a high school

Rabbi and homeroom teacher for eight years, in a high school designated to youth at risk and high school dropouts. He also spent three years working in a OU youth at risk club in Jerusalem. Rabbi Wilchfort received his Semicha from the Chief Rabbanut of Israel. Rabbi Wilchfort is a professional musician. 

Serving as an emissary to Vancouver, Rabbi Wilchfort, wishes to share with us his love of Torah, the Jewish nation and the land of Israel, through experiential Jewish learning.

 

 

Rabbi Stephen Berger

Rabbi Berger is a dynamic and energetic educator who brings to his position more than 10 years of leadership and professional experience in formal and informal Jewish education with a broad spectrum of teens and youth of varying levels of Jewish knowledge and observance.  Rabbi Berger first joined the King David staff in 2009 as a part-time Judaic teacher, later becoming a full-time teacher, as well as the school's Director of Jewish Life.  Previous to KDHS, Rabbi Berger worked as a part-time and substitute Judaic studies teacher at each of the Jewish day schools in Greater Vancouver. Concurrent to his KDHS and Torah High teaching and administrative duties, Rabbi Berger also served for six years as Regional NCSY Director for the Pacific Northwest Region, creating and implementing programs for Jewish teens from Edmonton, Calgary, Greater Vancouver, Seattle and Portland.   He held similar positions for NCSY in Long Island, New York and Palo Alto, California. Alongside Rabbi Berger's enjoyable ethics and Israel advocacy courses, new for this year is Jewish experience through film!

Shula Talmaciu

Moving to Vancouver with her family 4 years ago, Shula is an experienced teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching in secondary school in Israel where she taught English, Hebrew to new comers and even led the school delegation to Poland on March of the living.
She teacher Hebrew and Judaic at Kind David high school, she is married and has 3 children. She is excited to be part of such a welcoming and warm community.
